Data & AI Readiness Assessment

Know what to fix before you invest further in data or AI. Senior specialists review your actual systems, data and access, find the use cases worth doing and build a justified programme of work, so your next investment is evidence-based, not a guess. AU$5,000 fixed price, credited to the build. Typically 2–4 weeks.

Is this the right starting point?

Start here when the way forward isn't yet clear

If any of these are true, an assessment reduces risk before you commit to a larger build.

AI is a mandate, but the use case is unclear

You know AI and better reporting matter, but not which problem to solve first or where AI will actually pay off.

Priorities conflict

Different teams want different things and there's no agreed sequence.

Data quality and ownership are unknown

Nobody can say with confidence whether the data is fit to build on.

The architecture is uncertain

It's not clear what to build in Fabric, what already exists, or how it fits together.

Access and governance feel risky

You're unsure whether data can be used safely by people, apps and AI agents.

Copilot licences without readiness

Copilot or AI agents are on the table, but your data, permissions and oversharing exposure haven't been assessed.

You need a defensible plan

The board will fund the next step, but only off a costed, sequenced plan. Not another slide deck.

Who the Readiness Assessment is for

A good fit if…

  • You're a mid-market organisation on Microsoft with competing data and AI priorities
  • You're unsure whether your data is ready to build on
  • You need a costed plan to justify the next investment
  • You want an assessment that leads to a decision, not endless analysis

Not the right start if…

  • Your use case, data and ownership are already clear (start with a sprint)
  • You want a quick online score rather than a review of your actual systems
  • You're looking for an open-ended enterprise strategy programme

What you typically receive

A justified programme of work, not a strategy deck

Prioritised use-case map

The candidate data and AI use cases, ranked by value and readiness to implement.

Honest current-state findings

A plain read of your data, reporting reliability, systems, access and integration.

Recommended Microsoft architecture

A practical target state in your Microsoft environment, scoped to your priorities.

Costed, sequenced plan

The programme of work in order, with clear next steps and commercial options.

A genuine recommendation

Build, defer or don't build. The assessment is worth having even when no implementation follows.

What we review

The areas the assessment covers

Every area exists to enable a decision. Nothing gets assessed for the sake of a longer report.

Business priority

Which problem is worth solving first, and what solving it is worth.

Systems & data

What lives where across finance, CRM, ERP, operational and industry systems, and what shape it's in.

Reporting reliability

Where the numbers disagree today, and why people have stopped trusting them.

Ownership & adoption

Who owns each dataset and decision, and whether the users are ready.

Microsoft architecture

What you already own in Fabric, Power BI and Azure, and what it can carry.

Identity, access & AI readiness

Whether people, applications and AI agents can be given access you'd defend to your board.

How it works

From uncertainty to a decision

1Step 1

Start with the free consultation

A free 30-minute Data & AI consultation confirms whether the assessment is the right first step. If it is, you get a one-page, fixed-price proposal.

2Step 2

Review the evidence

We review your systems, reporting, data quality, identity, access and governance against your priorities.

3Step 3

Test the first use cases

We pressure-test the strongest candidates for value, feasibility and readiness to implement.

4Step 4

Present a justified programme of work

You get a prioritised, costed, sequenced plan and a clear recommended next step.

FAQ

Readiness Assessment questions

What does it cost and how long does it take?

AU$5,000, fixed price, credited to the build. It typically takes 2–4 weeks, depending on how many systems are in scope. The scope is confirmed in a one-page proposal before you commit.

Does the fee count toward implementation?

Yes. The full fee is credited to the build if you go ahead with DataMust. Your proposal states the terms.

How is this different from a free AI readiness quiz?

A quiz gives you a score. The assessment has senior specialists review your actual systems, data and access, and ends with a costed plan you can act on, including a recommendation to wait when that is the right answer.

Why pay for an assessment?

Because it answers to you, not to a sales target, which is why it can honestly recommend deferring or stopping. You also get senior attention, not a graduate with a template.

Who needs to be involved?

The person accountable for the outcome, plus whoever owns the relevant data, systems and budget. We keep the time commitment tight and focused.

What access do you need?

Enough to assess the current state: typically read access to key systems and reporting. We work inside your Microsoft environment and follow your access controls.

What if the recommendation is not to build?

Then that's the recommendation. The assessment's job is to reduce risk and clarify the decision, including telling you when the right move is to wait or stop.
